Publicity Stunt or Genuine Arrest? Allu Arjun’s Legal Trouble During Pushpa 2 Release

Pushpa 2 Star in Legal Hot Water

Tollywood sensation Allu Arjun found himself at the center of controversy following his arrest in connection with a fatal stampede during a promotional event for Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident, which occurred at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad, claimed the life of a woman and sparked debates about safety protocols at high-profile events.

Tragic Turn of Events at the Screening

A massive crowd gathered to see Arjun at the event, leading to chaos and a stampede that caused the death of a fan named Revathi and left her son injured. Hyderabad police arrested Arjun on charges of negligence, placing him in judicial custody for 14 days. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail within hours.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s Provocative Claims

Ram Gopal Varma ignited speculation by claiming the arrest was a publicity stunt orchestrated by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy. On his X account, Varma wrote, “This entire episode feels staged to give Pushpa 2 an enormous boost in its second week at the box office. The quick bail was too convenient.”

Political Denials and Public Reactions

CM Reddy refuted these allegations, stating, “Allu Arjun is an actor, not a national hero. The state has no interest in promoting his film. The law is following its due process.”

Fans and critics remain divided, with some echoing Varma’s theory, while others see it as an unfortunate coincidence.

Pushpa 2: Breaking Box Office Records

Despite the controversy, Pushpa 2 has been a blockbuster, grossing INR 1,300 crores globally within its first 10 days. The film continues the story of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, alongside Fahadh Faasil as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli.
