Gal Gadot is breaking her silence on Disney’s Snow White remake, sharing insights into her time on set and the movie’s underwhelming performance. The film, released in March 2025, paired Gadot as the Evil Queen with Rachel Zegler as Snow White.
In her appearance on The A Talks, Gadot admitted she had been convinced the project would be a major hit. “I was positive the movie was going to be a huge success,” she said. Instead, the film struggled commercially, with Gadot attributing its failure in part to political tensions.
She specifically pointed to October 2024, when global pressure on public figures to take positions on the Israel issue increased. According to Gadot, this climate spilled over into entertainment industries, including Hollywood, influencing how audiences viewed the film.
Even so, Gadot spoke warmly about her co-star Rachel Zegler. “Even working alongside Rachel, we laughed and we talked, we had fun,” she recalled. Their camaraderie off-camera contrasted sharply with their characters’ relationship, with Gadot bringing villainous energy to her role while Zegler took on the innocence of the fairy-tale princess.
The actress acknowledged her disappointment with the box office results but framed it as part of a broader career journey. “It is what it is. You win some, you lose some,” she said, adding that she remains proud of the work she put into the role.
Industry analysts have noted that despite the film’s performance, Gadot’s Evil Queen portrayal reinforced her ability to handle diverse roles, from superhero to villain. Zegler, meanwhile, continues to be recognized as one of Hollywood’s promising young talents.
