Dua Lipa stuns Los Angeles crowd with surprise cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’

Dua Lipa captivated her Los Angeles audience with a stunning surprise performance of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 classic The Chain, delivering an unforgettable moment during her ongoing Radical Optimism World Tour.

The British pop sensation, celebrated for her ability to blend contemporary pop with retro influences, took the stage at the sold-out Los Angeles show and paid homage to one of rock’s most iconic bands. Before performing, Dua addressed the crowd, saying, “During this tour, I’ve taken the time to honour local musicians and hone in on what makes them unique and what makes them that little bit of magic.”

She continued, “This next song is by a band that’s done exactly that in Los Angeles. They made an incredible album here in the ’70s… this is The Chain.”

The moment quickly spread across social media, with fans posting clips of her soulful rendition. Many praised Dua for giving the legendary rock anthem a hauntingly modern edge, calling her version “breathtaking,” “chilling,” and “a perfect blend of pop and nostalgia.”

Throughout her Radical Optimism tour, the Grammy-winning artist has been known for celebrating local music culture by performing special covers in each city. She has previously covered Ariana Grande in Miami, Aerosmith in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, and Lorde in New Zealand.

Dua’s tour has also been marked by high-profile collaborations. Music icons such as Nile Rodgers, Chaka Khan, and Jamiroquai have joined her on stage for special performances, thrilling audiences around the world.

Her summer shows at Wembley Stadium were later transformed into a behind-the-scenes documentary, Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), offering fans an intimate look into her artistic process and tour life.

Beyond music, Dua Lipa continues to use her platform to speak on social and global issues. Recently, she addressed media speculation surrounding her agent’s dismissal, reaffirming her stance on Palestine. “It is always Free Palestine,” she wrote, “but exploiting a global tragedy to sell newspapers is deeply troubling.”

Dua’s latest performance not only showcases her vocal power but also reaffirms her place as one of today’s most versatile and globally conscious pop artists.
