Pakistani actress Emaan Khan has opened up about deeply personal experiences from the early days of her acting career, revealing how her mother faced uncomfortable treatment on set while accompanying her daughters during shoots.
During her appearance on the comedy talk show Mazaaq Raat, hosted by Imran Ashraf, Emaan Khan spoke candidly about incidents in which her mother was reportedly asked to leave makeup rooms and wait outside due to space constraints when certain actresses were present.
Emaan explained that although she personally did not face such situations directly, witnessing her mother being asked to step outside left a lasting emotional impact on her. She said these experiences shaped her understanding of respect, dignity, and professionalism within the entertainment industry.
Recalling those moments, she shared that her mother would often quietly comply and wait outside for hours without informing her daughters. According to Emaan, her mother made a conscious effort not to disturb their focus on work or create stress during shoots.
She further mentioned that her mother never allowed her daughters to realize the extent of those difficulties at the time. Instead, she would downplay the situation by saying she was simply bored at home and had come along for company.
Emaan also recalled how, when questioned by the host about whether those same individuals behave differently now, she responded humorously, noting that respect tends to follow success. She added that she would not tolerate any lack of respect today and would address such behavior if it occurred.
Emaan Khan’s mother, who also appeared on the show, confirmed that similar incidents did take place on multiple occasions. However, she emphasized that she chose not to share these experiences with her daughters during that period to avoid distracting them from their professional commitments.
She reflected that only later did her daughters learn about the sacrifices she had made while supporting their careers. According to her, she often explained her presence on set as casual visits rather than revealing the reality of being asked to sit outside.
Over time, she added, the same individuals who once treated her differently now greet her with respect, something she attributes to the success and recognition earned by her daughters in the industry.
Emaan Khan and her sister have gradually established themselves in Pakistan’s television industry, while their mother’s quiet support and sacrifices remain a significant part of their journey and growth in showbiz.
