Pakistani actor Faizan Sheikh believes that leading stars Fawad Khan and Humayun Saeed can play an important role in reviving the country’s struggling film industry by taking on more cinema projects.
Speaking about the current challenges facing Pakistani cinema, Faizan said that only a few actors currently possess the popularity and star power needed to attract large audiences back to theatres. He suggested that increased participation from established names could help rebuild public interest in local films.
Faizan highlighted that Pakistan currently produces only a limited number of films each year, with around 10 projects being released annually. According to him, increasing the number of films featuring recognized stars could encourage more viewers to return to cinemas and create stronger momentum for the industry.
The actor explained that if performers like Fawad Khan and Humayun Saeed appeared in three or four films every year, their strong fan following could help increase box-office performance. A healthier cinema market would then encourage producers to invest in more projects and provide greater opportunities for new talent.
Faizan described the growth of the film industry as a continuous cycle, where successful films create confidence among investors, leading to more productions and more opportunities for both experienced artists and emerging actors.
Fawad Khan is widely considered one of Pakistan’s most popular film personalities. He has earned recognition through successful projects including Khuda Kay Liye, The Legend of Maula Jatt, and The Superstar. His international popularity and strong fan base have made him one of the most influential figures in Pakistani entertainment.
Humayun Saeed has also established himself as a major name in Pakistan’s film and television industry. As an actor and producer, he has been associated with several successful films, including Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, and Love Guru. He has also played a significant role in producing entertainment content and supporting the growth of local cinema.
Pakistan’s film industry has experienced several challenges in recent years, including limited production, changing audience habits, and competition from international content platforms. Industry professionals have repeatedly emphasized the need for stronger storytelling, increased investment, and greater audience engagement to create sustainable growth.
Many filmmakers believe that the involvement of established stars can help attract audiences while also creating space for younger actors and filmmakers. Successful commercial films often provide financial confidence that allows producers to take risks on new concepts and fresh talent.
Faizan Sheikh’s comments have sparked discussion among entertainment fans about the future of Pakistani cinema and the role of major celebrities in bringing audiences back to theatres. As the industry continues to rebuild, the participation of popular stars could become an important factor in shaping its next phase of growth.
