Farah Khan Spills the Beans: Her Original Casting Dreams for ‘Main Hoon Na’

Bollywood fans, get ready for some behind-the-scenes secrets! Director Farah Khan recently dished on who she originally wanted to star in her hit movie, ‘Main Hoon Na’. From heartthrobs to legendary actors, the list is surprising.

Shahrukh Khan: The One Constant

Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan are a Bollywood power duo, and it seems their friendship was strong even then. “Shah Rukh is the only actor who always says yes to my movies,” Farah revealed. It makes sense – he was the first to sign on for ‘Main Hoon Na’.

The Hunt for the Perfect Cast

Finding the rest of the cast was a wild ride! Farah wanted Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, and even Sohail Khan for the role of Lucky. But in the end, Zayed Khan got the part just before filming started!

Ayesha Takia was Farah’s first choice for Amrita, but scheduling conflicts with ‘Socha Na Tha’ got in the way. Amrita Rao stepped in at the last minute and the rest is history!

Even the villain’s role was a challenge! Farah approached Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, and Kamal Haasan – all declined before Suniel Shetty finally took on the role.

A Hit Despite the Drama

Despite all the casting chaos, ‘Main Hoon Na’ was a smashing success in 2004! Critics loved it, audiences flocked to theaters, and it cleaned up at the awards shows.
