Indian actor Emraan Hashmi has reached a major career milestone after Awarapan 2 crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in India within five days of its theatrical release.
The film opened with an impressive Rs. 22 crore on Friday before gaining momentum over the weekend. It collected Rs. 33.75 crore on Saturday and another Rs. 26 crore on Sunday.
The movie then added Rs. 9.25 crore on Monday and Rs. 9.75 crore on Tuesday. According to Sacnilk figures cited in the report, these collections took the film’s India net total to approximately Rs. 100.75 crore.
The film’s India gross collection has reached around Rs. 120 crore, while its worldwide box office earnings have climbed to approximately Rs. 144.13 crore.
For Emraan Hashmi, the achievement carries particular significance because it marks the first time he has crossed the Rs. 100 crore milestone as the sole lead of a film.
The actor has previously been associated with movies that crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark, including Tiger 3 and They Call Him OG. However, he appeared in supporting or antagonist roles in those projects rather than carrying the films as the principal lead.
The success of Awarapan 2 therefore represents an important moment in Hashmi’s career and demonstrates the continued box office appeal of the actor when placed at the center of a major theatrical release.
The film’s performance is also significant for the Awarapan franchise. The original Awarapan, released in 2007, had a relatively modest theatrical run but gradually developed a strong cult following.
Its music, emotional storyline, and memorable performances helped the first film maintain a dedicated fan base over the years. The sequel appears to have successfully converted that long-standing interest into strong opening-week collections.
Awarapan 2 was reportedly produced on a budget of around Rs. 45 crore. With its India net collection already exceeding Rs. 100 crore, the film has earned more than twice its reported production cost at the domestic box office.
The strong performance could make the sequel one of Hashmi’s most successful theatrical projects as a leading actor. It also demonstrates the commercial potential of established franchises when they reconnect with audiences after a long gap.
The sequel features Hashmi alongside Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Survinder Vicky, and Puran Gabbi. The combination of familiar franchise value and a prominent cast has contributed to the film’s growing attention among moviegoers.
Crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark within five days is particularly notable because it gives the film strong momentum heading into the rest of its theatrical run. Its eventual total will depend on how well it maintains audience interest in the coming days.
For Hashmi, the milestone could also provide renewed momentum for his career as a leading man. The actor has spent years moving between romantic dramas, thrillers, commercial films, and supporting roles in major productions.
With Awarapan 2 delivering a major box office result as a solo-led project, the film has added a new achievement to his career while giving the long-running Awarapan franchise a strong theatrical revival.
