Indian actor Ronit Roy has alerted fans about an online scam involving impersonation of his identity on social media platforms.
The actor shared a public statement warning that an unidentified individual has been using his name to contact people online, particularly women, and allegedly requesting money under false pretences.
According to his post, the impersonator has also been attempting to book work and communicate with individuals while falsely claiming to represent him. He emphasized that he never contacts people directly on social media for money or personal requests.
Ronit Roy urged fans to remain cautious and report any suspicious accounts or messages claiming to be associated with him. He stressed that such fraudulent activity is misleading fans and damaging his public identity.
The actor also shared screenshots and alleged contact details linked to the scam, including chat conversations and message exchanges that appear to show attempts at deception. These visuals were posted as evidence to raise awareness and help identify the fake accounts.
He further warned that legal action may be taken against the individual involved and stated that relevant authorities have already been informed about the matter.
