Humayun Saeed Shares Emotional Journey Behind ‘Love Guru’ and Plans for Affordable Cinema Access

Veteran actor and producer Humayun Saeed recently spoke candidly about the hurdles he faced while bringing his latest romantic comedy, Love Guru, to life. In a press interaction at the Karachi Press Club, Saeed offered insight into the financial risks and logistical barriers that continue to challenge Pakistan’s film industry.

Saeed emphasized that filmmaking in Pakistan remains a daunting task due to limited cinema screens and elevated ticket prices. “It’s not easy to make a film here,” he stated. “The cost of production is high, and the infrastructure doesn’t always support wide releases.”

The actor confessed he was filled with anxiety in the days immediately following the movie’s release. “I didn’t step out of my house initially. I was just too nervous about how the audience would receive it,” he said. “Thankfully, the early response was encouraging, and that gave me the confidence to engage more openly.”

As Love Guru continues to attract audiences nationwide, Saeed revealed plans to introduce discounted tickets for underprivileged moviegoers if the film maintains strong box office momentum. “If the success continues, I want to give something back. Cinema should be for everyone—not just those who can afford a high-priced ticket,” he explained.

The move reflects a broader goal to make Pakistani cinema more inclusive and accessible to the masses. Saeed’s gesture has already earned praise across the industry, as he advocates for systemic changes that could shape the future of local entertainment.

The press event also sparked discussions around the urgent need for public-private partnerships to boost cinema infrastructure in underserved regions, which would ultimately help Pakistani films reach their full commercial and cultural potential.
